August and September are lovely sowing months for seasonal salads such as lettuce, chicory, claytonia, corn salad and land cress.
They’ll merrily pop up ready to grow to be harvested during autumn, winter and early spring. Thoroughly good value and not needing much space, autumn salads have useful cropping habits.
